That doesn't sound like a 'waste of time' to me. I mean, isn't that the point of joining such sites? Sounds like you must have a killer profile to be getting so many people contacting you. Either that or the spammers are hard at work when it comes to the unmentionable stuff and profile copulation. I get a lot of those at YouTube, hi5, sms and just my regular email addy. Most annoying. So too are the folk who just want to increase their number of friends by requesting friendship with anyone they find. I had a girl do that to me at bebo. I leave her on the profile all the same. I figure she's just given the illusion of making me one friend more popular so it works for both of us even though I prefer legitimate friendships. Anyway, she's an attractive Goth. My Kryptonite! LOL
It is certainly addictive at first and yes, I've missed a few karaoke nights due to sitting at the computer wading through that kind of stuff or even posting HERE! However, I'm now over the novelty and am able to prioritise and get out of the house to escape the virtual world in favour of the real one. Video games can be just as addictive, I've found!
