| From the Where2sing.com forum: Tom , Ageism is a major problem ,especially in the entertainment industry and in Australia , let's take Aust idol for example , they have now a age cut off at 30 , why not 31 or 41 or 51 & so on ,why ? , is it because people over 30 won't measure up to under 30's or is it that ' they ' think that if you haven't ' made it ' by 30 you are ' over the hill ' and never will or is it that ' they ' think that people over 30 will be ' ' a wake up ' to there bullsh*t and not put up with the hype and crap or may-be they just think that some ' fans ' will be disappointed with the EC factor , this same question appies to other ' Comps ' such as 'the road to telstra ' , this is a interesting question and when you are getting ' up the age hill ' this type of ageism smacks you right in the face and some-times just pisses you off , especially if you are singing and performing than ever before yet the opportunities become much less , if any at all ....So Tom i hear what you are saying..
