harpoet...
Hehehe. If I didn't breathe while typing, I'd be in trouble (and the forums would suddenly have a lot less reading material)! LOL

Teresa...
We met at Wintersun? That would have been in 2004. I'm very sorry but can't place your face (besides at the front of your head that is - I'm pretty sure I would have remembered otherwise. LOL). It's actually coincidental you should mention that comp as it has to do with something else I'll get into in a moment.
Thank you very much not just for the positive comments for me but also for recounting the story of the KWC finals and the fun you had. It's great to hear all about that. The Hungarian chap sounds a worry! LOL
Bill Masters & Kate Kelly are great company. If I was a local in their area, I'd be attending their shows often and hoping for their company at others still. They were so kind to let myself and Natalia the ACT champ that year to tag along with them even though the Queensland and national finals were not to be held till the following evening.
Whatever this 2 page worthy ambition of yours is, I wish you the very best of luck with it (unless you're trying to kill us all or something LOL but I'm sure it's much more innocent than that).
Don't underestimate your potential, Teresa. Duo Peter & Rita have a decade or 2 on you and they got to the semi finals on a nationally televised weekly talent show. By that token, you've got about 20 years of performances left in you MINIMUM! ;)

It's especially nice to get positive feedback today because the Johnny haters are out in force!
I just checked the Guest Book of my website and found negative commentary from someone called Michelle which was reminiscent of recent posts in the NSW forum. She took up SO much space too just to vent her negativity. Several posts' worth. I didn't even realize there was a character limit till I reached it myself in response, so had to edit it down and reword it making it less funny but still a decent enough reply, I hope - even though I was so tempted to just delete it. I really don't understand these people who post hateful comments. Are their lives so empty as to not have anything better to do?
Anyway, this Michelle says that karaoke has only come into the fore in this past year! What the? Is this the general consensus or do you guys feel karaoke has had appeal a lot longer than that? I mean, Australian Idol has been around for 5 years already and its forerunners were around before that in Britain and the US and let us not forget the birth of Bardot from Popstarz or even the old talent quest format on TV from shows like New Faces.
She even stated something about my television appearance on Today Tonight in 2004 without realising that the only reason something gets onto TV in a prime time slot is if it appeals to a large enough audience to watch it - and that was THREE years ago. In short, she made quite an idiot of herself and I couldn't help but foster that reputation for her.
Then of course there is the number of listed venues across Australia here. They have been declining lately so it would seem karaoke is less popular than it was, yet 'Michelle' seems to think the opposite.
What about the old 'follow the bouncing ball songs' on TV shows from as far back as the black & white days of television in the US and later, here?
What do you guys reckon about the popularity of karaoke or things like it? Has it only been the last year in your opinion too that it has increased? As a singer at more than 90 different gigs in the past 14 and a half years - mostly in Sydney but some in other parts of NSW and also in Queensland, I, for one, think not.
