Hi Bill & Johnny.B & All.......I too love the chance to sing songs from all era's also , as i don't host any-longer , this being the case for a number of years now , I've still found plenty of avenues to get out there and sing ( other than karaoke shows and open Mic' nights ) i do concert nights / days for the different charity clubs ( such as lions , seniors , legacy etc ), i've built up quite a few ' pro-burn ' discs ( got sick of changing discs all the time as i may do 8 to 10 songs in one bracket ) these pro burn discs i've sort of put in order ...ie... 20 songs for seniors .....20 old time crooning songs ..... songs from modern crooners ( Pete Murray , J blaunt etc ) , today's top 40 hits .....old time country ...modern country ...songs from 60's songs from 70's / 80's ..... rock'n' roll legends ..todays rock plus others , it never ceases to amazes me how people love ' mix music ' ie ...oldies love some newer stuff ( 70's too now ) and young people love the old songs , which i find is just great....
i too have well over 20k songs and really i believe a host should have plenty of songs , there is NO excuse for a small list , gee's i don't earn anything from karaoke but i still keep my list well up to date with monthly sunfly's and the 4 monthly ' top hits ' plus any new release ' old songs ' karaoke goers should always have heaps of variety of songs to help improve there singing potential and just may have a go if there is ' wide and verity selection of songs
Johnny ... thanks for those great words
Teresa...Welcome back to the site , yes its always great to see Victorians come on the site and the more the better too.
