Bill Turner...
G'day.
Yes, the 1960s and 1980s are my 2 favourite decades of music but I do love at least some music from every decade going back a LONG time now. Hehehe.
Ah! Someone else who likes Frozen Orange Juice. I was disappointed when I bought Sarstedt's greatest hits CD expecting more FOJ brilliance. I don't think there was even one other song I liked on the whole disc - and there were a lot of songs on it!
I'm glad you have got inspired to sing the ol' Bacharach tune.
It is amazing how a not oft heard song can be heard one week and suddenly everyone starts trying it, isn't it?
'If I Were A Rich Man!' Ah good ol' Fiddler On The Roof. I loved how Topol sang that song. The younger people of today will probably only know the rip off version by Gwen Stefani. I don't mind her version but it does irk me a little every time I hear it because I recall the original.
I am well familiar with The Tremeloes. Their Greatest Hits CD was one of the first I bought back in the early 90s when my family finally bought a CD player. That song is one of my faves of theirs along with Silence Is Golden but really the whole album was great with the exception of the last track which was a very poor quality recording from a live performance.
Given how rich the 60s was with music of different styles, it saddens me when people only associate that decade with psychedelic tunes or shouting style numbers. It would not surprise me if it was the most musically prolific period in history. I am so glad that karaoke tracks of songs from that era abound for people to continue trying even today.

No problem, man. I meant every word.
