I've been singing Zeppelin since the late 80's both in bands and at karaoke and have the knowledge required to pull them off.Singing loud doesn't mean straining yourself, remember its a microphone(except whole lotta love but thats the pain you go thru to pull it off).I was lucky i got my education from the old ladies at the local senior citizens club choir thanks to my dear grandmother(who taught me how to sing harmony)Amazing what a troop of old stagers can teach a young pup, The rest was from watching countdown and listening to more radio than was medically approved. I have never yelled a song and hope never to even have to . I think that you may have misinterpreted what i meant as loud my friend,and at times i do enjoy a good rest from singing and that is how i keep my vocals fresh (unless someone brings the flu into the gig with them)Apart from that honey lemon tea with a splash of vodka does it as a gargle to get everything just right. As for recording yes it does help but theres nothing like throwing yourself head first into a song you haven't tried before in front of a live crowd.And if you want to, ask Vic of R&V what i can do on a good night lmao.....
