Mic Rophone...
There was Eye Candy at the Brewhouse - and I MISSED it?!? Dagnabbit!!! *grumbles incoherently* LOL

catman...
I recall you enjoyed one of my stories of how after a jaunt at FJ's St Marys gig, I met some young guys on the bus whom I mistook for a gang at first but who then revealed themselves to be a bunch of nice enough young guys perhaps in need of a little more education in etiquette but still okay and they had me entertain them by singing. Well, at a friendship website I am a member of, I just got contacted by one of those guys! I am surprised he remembered my name. He had to remind me who he was because I couldn't identify him in the group photo on his profile page and everyone posting there was so young that I didn't think it could be anyone I know.
So, karaoke that night resulted in a change of perspective on young gang member look-a-likes and their taste in music, a late night singing trip on the bus AND as of today, a friendship being formed. I am still stunned that even these months later, he remembered the name to look up let alone thought of doing so in the first place! I wonder if he and his buddies would consider going to a karaoke. 3 of them including himself were Polynesian and we ARE a musical people. Listen to me saying 'we' as if I'm a full blood. LOL However, given their youth, I know the only thing that will guarantee their attendance is the promise of Eye Candy. Not much going in the Western suburbs I'm sorry to say. Mind you they were headed to the city that night and he left himself nearly broke in order to do so after paying for his friends' tickets, so I know they're prepared to travel!
Isn't it interesting how we feel we're somehow too old to ask younger people to hang out with us at karaoke? I mean these guys are either in their teens or just breaking the 20-something barrier and I know at their age, I used to hang out with people my current age (at their request) and it was never an issue for me except that I perhaps felt immature. Yet it feels weird to suddenly have that role reversed for me so that suddenly, I'M the older person in the equation. Hehehe. Funny.
