| From the Where2sing.com forum: R & V .... Thanks for making me so welcome on wed. night . I reckon it's one pf the great features of this site , that you can travel almost anywhere in Australia , & still feel imediately included / conected to a crowd at a venue even though you've never been there before , because we're able to comunicate through these forums . I have to say I was totally impressed with your show , from the sound you guys deliver to the atmosphere you create , & it's obvious that many locals feel the same , 'cause the quality of singers at the RG , even on what you described as a quiet night , is fantastic !! with many of them seeming to be pro or semi-pro singers / muso's & the like , & these types wont waste there time at a shit show ... There's been lots of talk here about how many younger people do lots of ''older'' songs , & I think we've all seen that , but you had a (approx) 50 + year old doing songs like ''Chasing Cars'' (Roger , the ex drummer)... older people doing ''younger'' songs is much MUCH less common & Tom , I think you'd do well to open your mind to what great songs are out there to sing , from the last few years charts . There's tuckloads of songs that aren't rap / rythum orientated . And as for these songs not being ''singers'' songs , well ... you've just got to get your soul into it & it will quickly become a ''singer's'' song
Those twins sure impressed me too , & after chatting with them , I promised I would bring my (handsome hehe) twin brother down there one night so we can get together , pick a song with common ground between us , & hammer out a rendition with 4 or 2x2 harmonies ... I'm already bursting with antisipation at getting to have a go at something like that , I can't wait !! .... & to come back to do another duet with you Rosalie . It's always a pleasure to pitch my voice against a classy singer like you , proof of which was the fact that you'd never done the song I chose & I'd never done the song you chose , yet we were able to make both of them work , & even have parts of them sounding ( I thought ) excellent ... Vic , keep doing what you're doing mate , 'cause your whole show is working well ... lol ..
