From the Where2sing.com forum:

Thanks for the song suggestions. However, Damien Leigh and Josh Groban - spare me! We're starting to sound like the Alan Jones Show. Emulating 'beautiful young males' seems even more camp & old-fartsy than singing old mens' songs.

James, I know how to do things out of my range but I can't see the point. On Wed's when it's quiet I can get away with murder & will do completely random songs, so always try new stuff - even Shirley Bassey. But Fridays I only get one song & there's a big crowd - 40 singers last week! (we need more listeners) - so for that one song I try to do something foolproof. Gone are the days when I tried to pander to the tastes of a young crowd. These days they're pretty random and tolerant. As I said before, they're quite happy with the guy doing Bobby Darin's Clementine, so really anything goes. I just get bored with time-wasting drunks who haven't the faintest idea of the song they're taking the piss out of. Sometimes it's comical but when you've seen the drunken clown act for the 500th time it gets pretty tedious and a good time to visit the Mens' or the bar.
