| From the Where2sing.com forum: Mic........Budget gigs are a real danger for the long term future of karaoke , this has been going on for a number of years , i remember hosts being paid $500 plus for a regular pub gig and up-to $700 to $ 800 for a private gig , then came along the ' discounters ' doing gigs at $ 390 and then came more discounters at $300 to $350 , then came along the discounters at $ 200 -$250 now its $150 , Why are you surprised ? , this will continue until karaoke prices / rates are regulated.
A full time entertainer has almost No hope of making a living from just karaoke...Sad
