James.....Tom.....and Tricia.............Good to see some sensibile debate again. The last week or so hasn't been inspiring to put finger to keyboard.Like James good on you Tom for voting with your feet.I assume though that you gave them plenty of chances. The thing is though you can't custom karaoke as a standard model as so many are after the experience on a different perspective. It is difficult to run a show exactly as Tom wants it because I believe it doesn't suit the majority and to much of a low key show from my experience doesn't survive. My shows are fun and upbeat but there is something there for everyone.......how upbeat depends on the venue and time of night. One thing that is out of my control is those spasmodic occasions where the crowd just isn't the same and the best of venue and show can appear a little shoddy.

Re: complaints......the biggest difficulty in servicing complaints in our situation is that they generally come when the person is in an alcohol fueled state and sometimes from a person you would least expect and at your busiest time.Just the other night one of our regulars came screaming at us that the person currently singing had had three more songs than him-not the case as the rotation was spot on.We sorted it out (quite funny how) but that is not always the case in heated situations. The bottom line was that a family friend was there and wanted him to sing more than his share so stirred him up to the point that he believed the crap he was telling him. Most genuine people see their mistake and it's usually embarrassment that keepsthem away-temporarily anyway.
