From the Where2sing.com forum:

Thanks Mic Rophone but sorry; I prefer reserving my social time for weekends or nights prior to public holidays. I hope the Thursday show proves a great success for you.
Ironically, I can't attend this Saturday as I have the birthday party of a friend to attend - and I've not seen her since last year's celebrations! LOL She's up Gosford way. Had it not been for that, I would have been travelling to Wollongong to do my first professional gig as a magician. As it is, my first gig will actually be the following Saturday. I may still make it down to the Brewhouse as I'll be at nearby Blacktown and supposedly finishing at 9:30. I think it will just depend on Fast Jimmy - the magician I'll be working with, who is doubling as my driver for the evening. He refuses to sing usually but he doesn't mind attending karaoke - that's how we met. Anyone who thinks I'm a good magician should see him at work cos he's just brilliant.
He used to sing in a choir as a boy but when his voice broke, he lost that ability somehow. He told me recently that he entered and actually won a karaoke comp which he attributes not to his singing talent but to his big finish where he magically produced a live dove which obviously, no one was expecting at karaoke. I was a bit cross that he would take a bird to an environment that loud but it seems there was no harm done. Seems there was no trouble regarding live animals in the venue either.
Anyway, if I make it to that Saturday week gig, I'll have the cards at the ready fresh from my performance and be looking forward to getting some singing done. It'll be nice to be present for the first round of singing for a change =)
