| From the Where2sing.com forum: David... Thanks for the changes to the gig & venue details giving greater flexibility. Just as a heads up we're also negotiating a Muso's night with another venue where we combine standard 'Muso's Jam' with Open Mike with Karaoke, in other words, we not only provide drum kit, guitar amp(s), mikes & p.a., plus various percussion instruments, we add the karaoke element (just backing tracks with lyrics) to create structure for some 'jams' - all optional of course. This is to alleviate the problem of musicians not knowing vocalists songs and vocalists not knowing lyrics to what attending musicians play. Combined with this, sometimes coming up with what to play can slow down the jam process. A list of over 5,000 songs with quick access to the lyrics will reduce down time, and a karaoke performance can be thrown in during instrument change over time. The idea behind the gig is improve 'muso's recall' and to provide greater opportunities for networking in the industry bringing together musos, vocalists, songwriters and also we'll offer the opportunity for student techies to get some experience. It will be an early or mid week gig when most of the target market won't have work. Thanks Roz Butler
