You would also know that those who are into strippers & hookers will find plenty such action by going a few more k's to the Cross. As for the loud sound system, a simpler way of achieving this effect is to get in the shower, get your ears wet and cup your hands over them with a loud smack. Turning an mp3 player's earbuds full blast will also give the desired noise effect. Personally, I thought karaoke was about singing. By that I mean us singing, not us merely listening to a band or club act.
I note the positive write up on Kelly's on the main W2S page highlighted many of the issues I've been raising - Positive treatment of singers, fair rotations, sensible sound levels, to name a few. The most successful venues have worked hard to achieve those things. It takes work. It's easy for the evening to get out of hand. Sydney media is reporting a rise in assaultive incidents in pubs. It could be a beat up but it does stress that peace is not the mere absence of conflict and it doesn't come about by chance.
