| From the Where2sing.com forum: MA ... does that mean, anyone who doesn't sing their own songs doesn't have talent ?? If so, that is absurd !! There is a huge list of 'big name' talented artists who have recorded and covered other peoples songs and have given them a mark all their own like Shazzys Farnsy Favourite 'Help'. I mean really, that's akin to bagging Jose Feliciano for doing The Doors - Light My Fire or bagging Shirley Bassey for doing The Beatles - Something. NOW to Add to Shazzy's post sticking up for Farnsey, let me say this, Sadie became the biggest selling Australian-made single in history at that time, earning Farnsy 3 Gold records and to this day, I think the Whispering Jack album is still the #1 selling Australian Album selling over 1 million copies right here in Australia and sales for the album hit 1.7 million and the single 'You're The Voice' (now there is a song I'd love to be able to sing) sold over 1 million copies in Europe and what self respecting Aussie Music fan and lover would not have a copy of the Whispering Jack album taking pride of place in their record collection.
