| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi All .... its so good to see that every-one is still having lots of fun at karaoke , but please spare a thought for some of us remote country folk , because of the drought and new smoking laws , where i live ( N/W Victoria ) , we haven't been too a show since June , as i have commented here before about this , some of you will be aware that up untill June there was 4 hosts doing gigs in many towns around this area every week-end but sadly no-more they have gone due to no work and now the nearest gigs are aprox 6 hours return trip to get to , and as i have spoken to a few ' hoteliers ' nothing looks like happening any time soon , so this will be my first xmas and new-years with-out karaoke for perhaps 15 to 18 years , on a positive note i am in the town choir and i do sing at many Charity events to keep my voice in a reasonably tuned and exercised manner , but in the new year i might have to brush off the cob-webbs from my gear and 20,000 plus songs and get a ' singing group ' happening to regenerate a need for karaoke in the future , but at this stage i would be so thankful for any-old karaoke gig , good or not so good , so be thankful that you have plenty of shows to choose from and every-one have a great Christmas would lets hope that good health and fun karaoke is a big part of your xmas plans .
