| From the Where2sing.com forum: Barri...YES! I am sorry! I do recall but, just like my OS trip, it seemed like yesterday and then Bang! It was gone. So much has happened since I got back that before I knew it, here we are....Xmas around the corner.
I had a great time singing in Vegas and I wrote the names of the venues down on coasters etc, but not sure where those coasters ended up! I went over yawning and not particularly interested in the whole bikefest/ Harley Davidson Weekend and now I am completely stuck on 'riding'. I am now officially a 'Motorcycle Momma'. We rode all over the countryside taking in great scenery and riding through Vegas at night was a trip in itself.
We went to a venue called 'Hogs and Heifers' ( I know.... ) where a demand was made upon me and my lady friend. 'Show your tits' we were told was the entry to the loo. Right about now, I was wishing I had carried a pair of 'chicken fillets' in my bag for such an occasion. I told the charming fellow I could not do that and he told me 'Well then you will have to sing with the band!' I swallowed and thought of the alternatives....This is a Coyote Ugly type bar, you get the picture...'Ok, I'll sing instead!' The lovely gent was quite taken aback but dobbed me in to the band leader and after brief discussion of nationality, the band decided on Jet - 'Are you gonna be my girl' OK.....easy as! NOT!!! Well, not without a screen with lyrics. It's amazing how many lyrics you can remember in a place like Hogs and Heifers....... Whilst I was 'dying' and 'trying' on stage my companion was dancing on the bar and ended 'showing her wares' anyhow...... we never did make it to the loo!!! I didn't have to reveal body parts although we did have to pose for Pix with some of the lads and you kinda don't say no to these boys.
The band was great but I would suggest (Who cares Mz Titty no show!!) they have lyrics ready in case they have 'guest' singers but then again, the way the crowd was I don't think it mattered what you sang as long as you MADE SOME NOISE!!!! Our male companions had waited outside and down the road a bit checking out the 'rides'. They decided there were too many people to push through.....men are so lucky when it comes to things like nature's call.
Footnote: The next day out on our Harley Roadster (big beast), the hairy Vegas motorway seemed quite tame to me after 'Hogs and Heifers'
