yes and i am at the ..., but i dont know if i will put anymore of my gigs on the the net i think it just makes you an easy target for all the sharks out there that cant get there own gigs but only know how to go round undercut you and then put on a crap show or promise the world (as in world karaoke idol)and deliver nothing just cop there $600 dollar fee, tie up a venue on all there wonderfull promises and at the end of it all they will have just fxxxed another venue manager in the head turned him off karaoke for life, unfortunetley these so called promoters cannot see past the $600 fee that they cop off every venue , and produce zero in the way of increased income for it , we seem to have seen the back of go karaoke , i am sure it will be a better karaoke world when we see the back of masters and preston,

Many thanks, and I'm really just checking that you do have all your venues currently listed? If you list them, then no one else can list them and have control of them - it would be a shame to see some other operator list one of your gigs in a manner that made it easier for them to steal it. Interestingly, the operator who was trying to run national competitions but failing miserably seems now to have given up and gone away. Masters and Preston I think charge $500ish for a gig's involvement in a comp, not for each gig but for the whole series of 10 or 15. That seems to be me to be a pretty fair (read: low) price, and I do think that those venues who really use it to attract punters by doing their own advertising do get a reasonable return. The problem comes with the venues who unintelligently expect to pay the $500ish fee then get all their promotions done for them by complaining - these venues rightfully fail. Basically, how couuld a competition where the winner has a chance to represent Australia in anything be a loser? I think burying your head in the sand is not the way to fight competition in business. Perhaps better to ask why venues seem prepared to pay more for other operators. And the comments against gigs on W2S may give you some fair insight into this.
