| From the Where2sing.com forum: In defence of the comment made about the unhelpful host at the Victory Hotel QLD. My hubby runs this show on Friday & Sunday nights although this comment was not directed at my hubby as it was from another night that he doesn't work...I will say this venue is running a mile & minute...
I get a little frantic for my hubby when I attend cos if he isn't loading discs, interacting with the crowd, mixing sound/mics, trying to keep a rotation when there are 30-70 song slips being thrown his way...someone is asking him..'When is it my turn?'...'Do you have this song?'...another is tapping his shoulder trying to get his attention...& of course those slips that have NO code on them & he has to find them...it goes on...& no break for 7 hours straight.
Naturally everyone can't be pleased...he does his best to keep smiling throughout the night...
Even I as another patron in this venue get a little agitated & i'm just sitting by watching.
People need to understand that venues like these the host can't always drop what he is doing to give you his full attention. It can be seen as rude & the host is ignorant etc etc...but all we can do is our best to please...although not everyone will feel that way.
