Only recently I shared on this forum my nightmare developing and producing a new song book and the expected criticisms it would attract and lo and behold I've received them, my decision to list 13700 songs by singer attracted a huge critique from a couple of punters,who have for the past 3 years, use a reportoire of the same 4 songs each night - AND THEY DON'T KNOW THE ORIGINAL ARTIST BY NOW! sheesh...
And of course, as you mention the 'queue crazy' who needs to be told every 2 minutes he/she is 25th, 24th,23rd in line or the 'queue jumper' who thinks they can get ahead in the singers list because they have to 'go home' and how about those 'can I change my song' punters, they usually emerge just when their song is locked & loaded and the 'last round hero' the one who has been at the bar all night long and due to their over indulgence in 'singing syrup' is oblivious to the fact the night is ended and insists he wants to 'sing' AC/DC's 'You Shook Me All Night Long' lmao
Oh I feel so much better now getting that off my chest,you see I've had a couple of very restless nights and deeply depressed days due to the fact on Saturday night I had to TELL a singer to USE THE SONGBOOK! How can I live with myself Arghhhhh!!!!!
