who gives a shit really, karaoke has lost its fun for some people. why cant everyone just enjoy it. If you think you've got the 'right stuff' then go peddle it on the pro stage if you cant just sing for the sheer fun of it.
like Chuck said, how do you weed out the professionals anyways? that would be a nightmare job for hosts. Let them sing. who cares
as for the tape deck thing, i must say i do still have one, and also a record player lol, plus all my tapes and albums...now i feel friggin old lol
