| From the Where2sing.com forum: I'm happy to name/shame the venue that monstered Marg - Potters Brewery in the Hunter. We used to enjoy going there and even took some friends along who were impressed. But that all ended. I will not be monstered by a young punk. If he wears a bouncer's badge I know I am in a lose/lose situation because the police will back him no matter what I do, so all I can do is shame him publicly and write to his management. Indeed, a cop pulled me over on the way home that night. He was screaming out of an alleyway at such a rate I thought he was going to hit me. I raised my hand and was about to give him the finger when I realized it was a police car. He followed me and pulled me over. I wasn't charged. But then I hadn't done anything wrong! He was the one speeding. Why should I have to defer to punks with badges? My general point relevant to karaoke is that I think we all too often sink to a low common denominator and lose people who would come along peacefully to sing. I note that the CBD venue I mentioned, which I will now name as Concourse, has reverted to lingerie waitress nights. So much for the karaoke. The hosts were nice, I liked their list and the sound system. People praised our singing. But the hoons won.
