Mix Master Mike,
the very point that I was trying to make was that you just want to take aim at the person who may be following the rules of the competition and they therefore win it. That does make it sour grapes from you! You are the one making judgements on these so-called 'comp chasers' without knowing them at all and probably not even saying a word to them, ... so you seem to think it is ok to make judgements on them but not on you? You have said that YOU get pissed off about it so we can make a judgement about your thoughts in regard to behaviour!

The point has been put that karaoke competitions are to find the best whoever that may be. As Kev, put it, complain to the management about not giving the regulars freebies ... but again I ask ... what point do they have for giving you anything ... as you say, a regular goes week in and week out ... they dont need anything to attract you to the venue and gain higher takings. They do that through holding a competition. If it was a comp for just the regulars, they lose money overall. They are not attracting new business or making more money from it.

So yes, I believe that it is fair that a person can come once if they so choose to a comp and then to the final for two reasons: it is fair cos the principle of a competition is to find the best. As a fellow competitor I want to be against the best. Second, because it is within the rules of the comp!
