From the Where2sing.com forum:

Went to Chatty last night with the GF. Had fun despite one nearby guy in particular behaving like an idiot, posing and yelling to friends on stage throughout the durations of their songs, completely oblivious to the fact he was annoying even some of the friends in his group, let alone the rest of us. He did provide humorous entertainment when he decided to freestyle over the microphone, following his and his friend's rendition of 'Drop It Like It's Hot'. He was rapping about some girl in his group called Sally who apparently was wearing tartan. It was funny. I had taken the guys to be a mix of 'wiggers' and hard rockers but 2 of them who got up, expecting to sing the Pearl Jam version of 'Better Man' instead were caught out and wound up singing the Robbie Williams tune and I have to say, they actually did it really well. It was nice to see they were such good sports about not getting the song they wanted and trying a totally different one instead (okay, not TOTALLY different, they share a name, after all).
Garry and Di were lovely, naturally(!) and the place was rather busy but waiting time didn't feel as long as it actually was.
Not many dancers last night which was disappointing but GF and I still enjoyed ourselves. I was pleased we braved the weather to get there.
Nice to see mixmastermike in attendance who revealed his identity to me recently. I love the passion he has for the songs he does. He has only just joined the computerised world, so go easy on his spelling and grammar mistakes, folks cos he's not an experienced typist at all. Damn! I meant to tell him how to correct mistakes via the backspace and delete buttons. Oh well. Next time! :)
The infamous Robert was there too and he actually praised me for my rendition of Engelbert Humperdinck's 'Quando, Quando, Quando' which was the only song I managed to get in given the late arrival but that was okay. To get a compliment from Robert, you must be doing well cos usually he just critiques and compares you with himself but he said the loveliest thing a singer can hear: 'I've heard a lot of singers and seen a lot of performers in my time and in my experience very few have got it and you, my friend, have GOT IT!' WOW! That was unexpected, I can tell you! If that sounds conceited, you've missed the point. I'm just saying it felt great to receive such praise especially when I felt I had sung pretty well too for a change. I'm my own worst critic and to receive compliments when you feel you did crap (or mediocre at best) is not reassuring at all. It usually makes me feel worse. Compliments received when you're on top of your game though; different story, with feelings of: 'WOO HOO!' Hehehe
Wanted to check out the Edinburgh Castle karaoke tonight but don't think I'll get the chance so another time it shall have to be *sighs*
