| From the Where2sing.com forum: The only harm I see in listing gig info here (with next to zero effort) is that it allows people to spread misinformation such as saying a gig is not running when it actually is and to reach a wider audience whereas gig comments are probably easier policed. Given that this is an extreme minority as far as forum comments go (judging by what I've seen in the General, NSW and WA forums) and that it is unlikely that every gig's KJ is the one controlling their gig comments sections, one off info is probably okay to put here. After all, it is still a good idea to call a venue before attending and if you hear a gig has been cancelled once off, temporarily or even permanently, you should still call the venue to confirm. So, again, no harm.
W2S provides as up to date info as it can but it is not up to the second accurate and cannot be expected to be right now.
Like Music Addict says, provided you don't give too many details away, you can usually get away with it.
For example, I know that the karaoke held at a club in Northmead that usually has its karaoke on a Friday will tonight be having it instead of tomorrow due to the Easter long weekend. I'll not be there. LOST is on. To anyone else going, hope you have fun.
Hope that's okay to mention cos last time I checked, their gig wasn't even listed in the gig guide and I've no interest in controlling a gig's info, so I'll not be listing it.
