It is likely that those who put their songs in later than you had already put their names in with Garry & Di so what you saw was only their actual choice of song. This is not favoring anyone as whoever gets there early & asks to join the queue can submit the actual song choice later. I do take your point, however, as there are a few regulars who make a point of putting their names down before the hosts have even started setting up. It definitely makes a long night of it as they always do 3 songs. You only need a few such people to end up with astronomically-long rotations. That's why we've resigned ourselves to doing just 1 song then going to do something else for the evening. We're rarely in the mood to listen to 40 other people per round (ie one old one new), some of whom we've heard do the same songs week in week out for a decade. There's nothing the hosts can do about this. As I've long said, this is the price we pay for encouraging every man & dog to get up. We get what we ask for.
