| From the Where2sing.com forum: Carly has brilliant vocals but I think she will freak herself out too much and it shows when she is up on stage and it is my guess that had something to do with her not being able to make it after a million dollars of marketing of her initial album years ago.
Michael Johns is but a small vocal range singer that when he gets out of that range cannot pull it off. I think live he must sound different as what I am hearing through the tv and sound system is pitchy at these points. He is a good looking bloke so that has the ladies on his side. And coming from Australia and looking a bit like Michael Hutchence has played well to his image. But vocally, should not go close.
David Cook is bringing alternative music into well known songs and giving them a wider audience. Good on him for that. He has an alternative rock sound but not brilliant vocals. Yet, he loooks the most comfortable by far onstage if not a little cocky (but that is fine for a performer ... you dont have to be humble if an audience loves you!)
Jason the dread is a surfer look with ok vocals but nothing special.
Brooke White is gorgeous but is from the Brady Bunch era and her songs and styling show that. Vocally she is nowhere near Carly or even Saiesha. She is also very awkward on stage and does stuff up when on piano and also singing. If she could sing modern songs and also had a completely differnt personality she would be a star.
Kristy is GORGEOUS! But she is country. Enough said!
David Archuleta is the Matt Corby of American Idol. Vocally he is brilliant (when he knows the songs). You're the Voice and We Can Work It Out were not for him at all and he was trying to listen to others saying 'you have to sing uptempo songs. I disagree! He is brilliantly vocally and when he sings well it doesnt matter that it is another ballad, cos ballads are enduring. There is no doubt he is awkward when he tries to perform an uptempo song. I believe that his vocal magic will get him to final 2 and perhaps to win it. I think the 2 Davids will battle it out. To listen to vocally, I would buy a David Archuleta album, but for a concert experience I would definitely go David Cook.
