| From the Where2sing.com forum: more on the subject, i don't care how big or small a company is nobody should be stealing another hosts work, and all should start at least on $300 per show, i usually look at the hotel and then quote it on size and affordabillity, before giving a price that is always a lot more than $300 i can stay home and go broke, so i will not drop my price, 1/ because i am a professional, 2/ i did my maths and worked out how much it costs me to do a show, 3/ i will not lower my standards, go cheap once and you have a problem putting up your prices, 4/ there are not many loyal publicans. they will soon get rid of you when some undercutter comes in. take it from experience i know. i built many a hotel and got the a** for an undercutter and have asked to return after the undercutter lost the crowd, only for it to happen again. publicans (most of them) have no loyalty or scruples.
