Hey Guys - Phew what a response!! I am sure Boiling Point has been given enough input to at least be first up with 'Dashboard' at the next gig (if ya can't beat 'em join 'em BP lol)!

I suppose my main issue in my post was, is it a FACT these punters choose this type of lengthy song intentionally to get more stage time?

From my experience the answer has to be no to BP's accusation. With the exception of one great Meatloaf Performer & his Friends that frequent one of my gigs all those that select this style cannot and certainly do not have the capabilities to do justice to the song & inevitably are selected for the 'group fun' thing on the night , good on 'em as that's what it's all about ain't it?

However for those regulars that choose to destroy these songs week in week out, should really be getting the message regarding consideration, I mean if ya not getting bodies dancing and choruses of folks chanting with you somethings gotta be wrong! Hasn't it?

I don't believe there is any cure to curb the selection of these songs, deleting from songbook, losing slips etc. invite other issues and as a Host of a 'Public Singing Jukebox' hired for the purpose of the Venues Patrons I must encourage and tolerate the Good,Bad & Ugly! (although I do like Fossie's suggestion lol)

I mean there is a greater threat slowly but surely creeping up on us all in 'Karaoke Happy Land' that being the 'PINK PRESIDENT' thing ARghhhhh this protest song makes every Dylan,Cohen composition sound like nursery rhymes 'AND YOU TALK ABOUT HARD WORK!' - 'Bye Bye Miss American Pie'
