From the Where2sing.com forum:

Hi Robbie: Sure ...if we werent enjoying ourselves at karaoke we wouldnt go would we?.thats a given.... to me having 'fun' is such a generalised and 'wishy washy' term and certainly what is fun for one .....is a pain for another.

I have no objection to anyone singing a 5-10 minute song (eg.Jesus of Surburbia).however I do believe those long songs should be at an appropriate time of the night at the discretion of the host......and for me ....if someone wants to sing one of these long winded classics ......it is only fair to other singers and audience that the song is sung reasonably well...which is in my view.....in the best interest of venue and patrons alike.

I know I will get hammered for this.... but I sometimes wonder if the statement 'karaoke is all about having fun' is little more than a cop out for a poor singing performance and/or a poor standard of karaoke show?

Vic goes and hides under the Bed .LOL
