Hi David I've noted that my listing on w2s under hosts has dropped off. As I explained before I cannot add any more information to my homepage, but I do have your site listed in my links page. I also carry your product information in my song books which is more than I can say about the others. I also would like to comment on my gig updates, while it's fine for me to update them I have no idea if any feedback is left. I'd therefore suggest that hosts are able to view any feedback that may be left. I note that this may already be the case I'm not sure. While on this topic I believe all hosts should have general ability to view the site, after all "where 2 sing" which would be much good without a the operators and our updates, the better information we hosts can provide the more subscribers you will likely to have. Well thats my thoughts for the day Cheers

Many thanks for your thoughts on the subject of what non-subscribed hosts should see on W2S. I agree that it is fair that hosts should see whether there are any comments under their gigs viewable by subscribers, so now all gigs listed under 'Own Gigs' have a line stating the number of comments and the date of the last comment. I hope this helps non-subscribed hosts decide whether a W2S subscription would be of value to them. I realise that you have the latest W2S logo on your links page, but it was only after careful research on the comparative value of hosts' links on W2S versus W2S links on hosts' pages that I set up the reciprocal links system. Search engines do not fully index all websites, and whilst high-traffic sites like W2S are indexed extensively, many hosts' sites have only their main page indexed. I've also spent too much time working to build the profile of W2S to see its reciprocal links buried in some back page, so if you see value in having your website link shown on the W2S Hosts' page, you would need to both move your W2S link to your main page, and subscribe to W2S. It's a lovely idea that all hosts in Australia should have free access to all of W2S, but perhaps worthwhile considering that this would again open those who do support W2S to competition from the undercutters and those who haven't put their hands in their pockets - and so undo all the work that W2S has achieved. As for the notion that they'd be no W2S without hosts, singers outnumber hosts by something like 13:1 on W2S and are more than able to keep up the listings - in fact, I think it is the number of singers providing feedback and voting on hosts' information that drives hosts' involvement at present. I get the feeling that you can see the value in subscribing to W2S, but are reluctant to do so based on the idea that you were a host long before W2S came along. We're talking about your accessing information on W2S for US$49.95 a year, whereas the same information would cost you thousands of dollars a year if there were no W2S and you had to go out searching for it yourself. The information on W2S has never been 'free' - in that previously I was the one sticking my hand in my pocket for all the costs associated with collecting the information, phone calls, faxes, printing & mailing, visiting gigs, travelling, upkeeping the website, and spending every day behind the computer. The W2S subscription purely mean that those who value my effort pay their fair share of the costs.
