| From the Where2sing.com forum: This pre-supposes that copyright has to be sought and granted, and that it can be witheld. My understanding of the copyright act as in place in most countries is that you can send the prescribed payment to the copyright holder, and go ahead without awaiting their permission. In fact, I thought that this is precisely what karaoke production companies have been doing for years, and that they had successfully countered accusations of infrigement with this exact argument. Would someone like to set me right on this, and specify a source of their information?
