Hey all.

Just got home from the absoloutely worst karaoke show ever!!!!

My best friend, who was born an aussie, who met a wonderful gentleman from the UK, had two adorable babies, moved half a world away, and then had to turn around and come home to make everything legal and get a permanant visa, joined me and my sister in law at a Karaoke Show (which shall remain nameless for the moment) for a bit of a girls night out!!!! I sang 3 songs (one of which was with my friend from the UK) and as my friend had been shafted (another girl had picked the same song only moments before) with a song already (to which the host had said 'Well pick another song and we'll put it up straight away') she picked her eldest daughter's favorite song at the moment, which was 'Lift' by Shannon Noll. All she wanted to do was sing this one song for her daughter, and the male host (there was 2 hosts - a female and a male, and a female console operator) decided, that instead of letting her sing her 1 song - he would sing 3 songs, within the space of 20 mins!

Now, is it just me, or does that not only seem rude, but also uncompassionate, unprofessional and self serving? A Karaoke host is there to offer a service to the patrons - NOT to better his own career or singing ability. It's sad that this pub has now lost quite a few patrons, because a host was more intent on his own self indulgent ways, than to let the punters sing that wanted to sing!!!!!

Feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
