| From the Where2sing.com forum: Sandy .... Congratulations on ''surviving'' the comp. I dont know how experienced a comp. host you are , but no doubt you've learned something from this one. Make sure you put on the rules sheet that the judges decision is final & no discussion , debate or correspondence will be entered into .... that way when the ''whingers'' come to you questioning the decisions & ethics of the comp. , you can calmly direct them to management. Whether their greivances are legitimate or not , you DONT want to be in the position where you HAVE to justify the decisions of others , It can only be to the detriment of your show. It appears , from the snippets we've been given here , that the biggest mistake you made was admittng that you had some knowledge of management's decision to handicapp outsiders. There's little doubt that this occurrs in many local comps , but an experienced host would never admit to even knowing about it. Keep yourself at arms length from the judging process & let the whingers (& there'll nearly always be at LEAST one !!) grizzle to someone else !! You've got a show to run !! ...... Good Luck ....
