| From the Where2sing.com forum: Harp: I've had success in getting almost everyone in a pub to sing at least one song.. and most enjoy it so much they are back next time right at the start ( which is great as I can spend most of the night chatting up the pub instead of ensuring I have enough singers for the next 30mins ). I think the trick is to encourage singing of appropriate classic songs that they all know and can join in with along with a very healthy dose of self-depreciating humour. In addition, only suggest it when the wine bottle is half-empty :p I rarely sing, but when I do I'll usually pick something unusual with an eye for a regular 'adopting' it as their song.
