You're probably right about how that year old post came to light. However, I do know several forumers who don't get much opportunity to log in more than occasionally. So, as a compromise, I would ask that the 'go to the start of unread posts' link actually does take you to the oldest unread post, rather than simply nothing if the oldest one is not on the current page. Occasionally, a great deal of discussion takes place in a short space of time, such as with the hullabaloo over Tom today or over Karaoke Karma Kay (I think that was the name, apologies if mistaken) several months ago and there have been several such occasions in between, though usually with shorter posts than in either of those 2 notable occasions.
