| From the Where2sing.com forum: I estimate that I've hosted over 600 shows in pubs,clubs,ships,backyards etc with the odd blue and many a drunk.Gear wise a couple of mic repairs and of course leads and yes alcohol does pay for the shows and my career.Can't count the number of karaoke shows I've attended as well.
The fuel for the whole Tom debate has been his level of tolerance for what are normal situations in the alcohol fueled industry.I can't recall a night that has been ruined for Sue and because of hoons.It is the responsibility of management/security to handle out of control situations and even better judge and stop before it starts.Why a patron would involve themselves and inflame a situation is beyond me. I agree that personal attacks are unnecessary but it does become frustrating to continually hear the same bad luck stories.
How about a run of totally positive viewpoints on karaoke and maybe those who are attacked on site review the style of their posts and see why.Anyway my view is that I've had a ball over the last 3 1/2 years and I'm happy that I have the tolerance of situations that actually help the industry grow and prosper.In my lifetime I do not expect to see the 'PERFECT WORLD'.
