From the Where2sing.com forum:

Mike- Rophone... thanks for your specific questions:

Question one - if I answer 'yes' or 'no', will you know to which part of your question I'm referring...lol. The site provides a level of service chosen by the individual, separated into 'subscribers' and 'non-subscribers'. A website is unlike a shop where the interaction is between two individuals, but rather like a person using a machine where the level of service supplied is in reaction to the user's choices. Whilst I control the levels (areas) of service to these two groups, I don't distinguish within those groups except for restoring the rights of those whom the website has removed rights unfairly.

Interesting point about control (by which I presume you mean management) of the site, and unfortunately I think that some who would be best in providing control or guidance are those with least interest or ability in so doing. For example, I think that it would put a host in an intenable position to be involved with the management of such a website.

The work of W2S is not typing out ideas and forum posts, but more integrating facilities into the programming of the website - so it does require an understanding of relational database structure and querying, php scripting, and experience in structuring logic into code. I have not so far had any help in the programming of the site.

Deviation into the Johnny B question: Remembering his grand exits stage left of before, I'm sure he'll be back when he has something new to share with us.

I started the site partly because I didn't see anyone else likely to put the required programming time into such a venture unlikely to reach a mainstream audience, so I don't think that MySpace will be knocking on my door after their Ksolo acquisition. W2S is not a commercially focussed venture because I think it would not then be able to achieve its function of providing equal information for all.
