Enjoyed your post Kieran. I have to say it is good to set a standard at a competition and it does make other singers aspire to achieve the same. If we were all the same what a boring world it would be. Kieran got me out of a rut as far as singing goes. It was a challenge for me to get off my butt and improve my singing so I could at least give him a little bit of a run for the money and it was the same for another friend, it mades us work harder. Nothing wrong with that. so instead of people whinging about all these comp chasers, it really should be a challenge.
As long as they follow the rules of the competition they are entering, may the best singer /performer on the night win the competition. As was said in the post, the people that complain are at each and every competition as well, so why are they not classed in the same catergory.
Haven't posted for awhile, but still read everyday and some of the posts have been pretty cruel recently. Politeness does not cost anything so can be given so much more freely. Hope that makes sense. Cheers Teresa
