| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi Trish, Rosalie here........thanks for asking..... set up was in an empty room while diners packed out with little seating area left in the other half of the pub. Opened the comp with a total of 5 audience and 3 competitors at 7:40. By 8:30 we had 5 competitors and an audience of 40+ and the numbers steadily grew to who knows how many!! They came from the race track and the footy fields and we ended up with an awesome crowd of country revellers (some visiting from Mango Hill in Brizzy) totalling well over 100 who stayed with us till the last song at midnight! It was freezing out Kilcoy way last night and this morning after a good night's sleep, we packed up the van, made sure the coffee flask was full and took the 2 hour long country road via Esk and the morning sun was awesome. Stopped at the old Fernvale Bakery for the best brekky in Queensland I reckon and home by 11am. Felt like a travellin band. .......
Funniest thing along the way........all the names of the creeks and bridges. One of the names that had us in fits was 'Neara Creek'. I looked at Vic and said ......hey Vic... guess where we are.....and he said .....near a creek. He had seen it too and we both p*issed ourselves laughing for the next hour as we found more names like 'Broughs Bridge' and 'Mary Smokes Creek' and the likes. Karaoke has given us both the most amazing experiences and we have met the most interesting people and hosting reinforces my belief that if you are passionate about your craft, it becomes infectuous and people just love getting caught up in the moment of good loud well-known songs. Forget the world for a good few hours and sing your boof head off with arms flapping and feet stomping.......Love it!!.........
