| From the Where2sing.com forum: In relation to my previous post regarding the cost of discs & blanket license fees. I understand the theory behind paying for this license, but we are loading them onto our hard drive units to use them *instead* of using the discs. Being that the discs should theoretically be tucked away safely forevermore gathering dust and hopefully never need to see the light of day, then I do take a bit of an issue with it.
I myself have gotten permission from ALL the manufacturers discs I use, I have letters from each of them, and I have my casual blanket license. I am not concerned about the legalities of how I am operating personally, I am just reasoning that getting these tracks in the way Rob has mentioned is all well and good, but it just seems slightly unfair that those of us that buy discs by choice (mine being I dont like the brands of ABCD karaoke, Forever hits etc), should then have to pay another fee for using 1 copy of the disc on a hard drive.
