I have on occasions guest hosted a night while the person doing musifc just does the music for a change..usually I will MC and sing couple of songs at start etc..and as someone in media who often judges talent quests and other opccasions I am often guest at certain events due to my being in the broadcasting business...I just wondered about doing a bit more on the karaoke MC side of things...am I making any sense to you as full time karaoke person....Happy New Year

Ah, but it would have made so much sense to me if I'd 'googled' your name earlier. Radio, poetry, travelling.... Now I understand why someone may desire your MCing skills.
But at karaoke? When most are there to get as many songs in themselves - I'm unsure of the attraction of celebrity hosts (and even more unsure about the attraction of drag queen hosts...lol). Perhaps a services club would be more likely to cough up the extra money for a KJ plus a celebrity host, because they mave many members hanging around waiting for something interesting to watch. Other than that, I think hosts are struggling to get enough income to pay themselves, without having another mouth to feed.
On the other hand, if a host could offer a 'Celebrity Karaoke Show' at a premium price by calling on your services, that may be another point of difference that they could use when approaching venues.
It sounds like time for a story. If you'd like to write me a feature story on how, why, and at what cost, you would be available - I'd be delighted to run it. Oh, and a pic would be great - perhaps one of you in full hosting action, or I could snip a shot from one of your Internet appearances.
Or, of course, Russia.
