From the Where2sing.com forum:

Ahh yes, the old 'keep them entertained' argument... There was a gig I used to go to on a Friday night in the city, this is well before I started hosting that was packed every night. You'd get 2, maybe 3 songs if you were there at the start, there at the end and the rotation cycle Gods were smiling on you that night. The host got replaced by the venue because they thought they could do better for cheaper and the first thing the new host did was mess around with the rotation to try and get a 'party' atmosphere happening. 'Everyone will get their songs' was his justification after the 'the place is pumping' line didn't work. My friends and I decided that was the last time we'd go there and we found another place to go to on a Friday night.

Some 3 months later, I popped in to see if he'd changed his tune and it wasn't really necessary to have a rotation as there was about 5 people in the room. I heard he got cancelled a few months after that and the venue hasn't had karaoke on there since.

Not wanting to have a go at you Rovic or anything, but a host messes with his/her rotation at their peril.
