| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi karaokechic:.....Its OK ....you are allowed to disagree with me.LOL...the point I make is that every host must run their show to suit the particular venue and the patrons they are trying to entertain......call it gut instinct if you like......and there should be no hard and fast rules that cannot be broken come what may.......It always remains very much venue and patron dependent.........you gotta do what works for you and your venue....but that format does NOT necessarily include all venues
However You must ask yourself the question.........Am I .... as a host ....merely providing an avenue for Karaoke tragics to participate in their hobby.?..... and consequently expect an audience of say around 20 likeminded singing patrons....or....am I really providing entertainment for the benefit of a wider audience through the medium of Karaoke and of course the profitibility of the venue? ....and hence expect to appeal to an audience of 100+........and ultimately for the longevity of yourself as a host making a healthy over the bar profit ...week in and week out.........
