You may remember me mentioning some time back (late 2004 I think) that my wife was the organiser (her job) of a Glenn Shorrock concert at the particular school at which she works and at which I had the priviledge to help in the setting up of equipment etc........We had actually arranged for him to come to the ACT for a live Karaoke performance (for Fun and Free) ..as he was in town on the previous Thursday Night.....of course it didnt happen....and probably felt that Karaoke was beneath him?...and we have also toyed with the idea of asking a celebrity of that ilk to get involved in Karaoke in either judging or a impromtu performance.
I know it sounds a little like 'pie in the sky'....however imagine the boost to Karaoke if someone like Marcia Hines or another Idol Judge or someone similiar were to give karaoke some credibility by showing some support ......be it ever so small?......instead of knocking it as they often do now.....lets face it .....I am certain that the majority of Australian Idol contestants would have cut their teeth on Karaoke......and besides its probably the biggest form of live Pub entertainment in Australia today...so you just cant ignore it?...anyway just a thought
