| From the Where2sing.com forum: I agree with LeatherBaron but would add the disclaimer that the KE's he is referring to tend to be very outgoing social people. Usually members of local theatre groups or musicians in their own right and are more than happy to responsibly contribute to bar take. And as a bonus, are usually great entertainers. Like LB, I think we should value their contributions as they certainly help in building a fun enjoyable atmosphere that encourage people to return for another great night out. And, there is nothing worst that starting a gig with no-one wanting to sing until someone aside from the host puts in a song to 'break the ice'.
And then theres the other group of KE's that are effective in losing a crowd quick-smart and drink water only not contributing to bar take.
