Yea spot on David when over for the KWC Aust. Finals I went to RQ's @ Robina and thats exactly the set up, I think they had two stations with two books at each, pen and slips, there was a fair crowd on that Sunday night and it seemed to work really well, no big que's. The books were attached to stands (like wooden sheet music stands back to back) with pens on string I have suggested this to 'she who pays the bills' and ' picks the discs' and not so keen at this point in time as the feeling is she will get more punters asking her for song searches, but personally I do like the concept very, very much!
As for the printer thing I like what I've got however after urgently printing only a couple of books I would never utilise it full time for songbooks and certainly not recommend anyone going to that extreme for songbook publication, I think it was an impulsive buy at the time and at the 'cusp' of technology changes making it look like a bargain when really it was being superceded by new tech. I applaud you on the in depth information and suggested conclusions because the 'songbook stations' certainly appeals, have you or has anyone tried this formula out there in a busy venue environment??
