From the Where2sing.com forum:

David, This is the 5th group we've taken onboard P&O ships.Karaokechic was on the first one where we took 110 people with subsequent groups of between 30 and 90.On those we hosted a total of 20 shows including a couple of cabaret style shows where we had audiences of up to 400 people. Our last group included a dance/performance school from the Central Coast, where they ended up doing 5 shows in the main showlounge.Sue and I have cruised 15 times and as a combination with the contacts we have made onboard with cruise directors and staff as well as our travel agent being oneof P&O's top sellers we have the experience to negotiate what we need to do depending on the size of the group. We get a price that is comparable with P&O's best but eveyone gets some onboard spending credit plus a automatic higher cabin.Yes it does add up to a better deal and the experience of travelling with the group is unmeasured.

Sue and I took an 8 night cruise on the Dawn in December so we were totally familiar with the new ship.Yes they have there own karaoke onboard and much more than previous ships but only an hour here and there and went its about to pump it stops,They have a Cavs system(all american) with heaps of songs but missing obvious favourites and no Aussie songs. The previous ships only had magic sing so it is an improvement but the cruise staff don't understand karaoke as we all do.

We have between 30 and 40 booked so far for this group and 50 or so would be ideal. We take onboard enough gear to hook ino the ship's mixer/PA and will run extended shows to what the ship is doing and with broader song choice. We have sumitted to P&O through the managing director of the Hunter Travelworld Group our desired format for our onboard shows which will also include a pre arranged cabaret show including the singers in our group. Most are from Newcastle but we will do a meet and greet prior to and get together with as many of the others as possible.

Not only the group experience but the interaction and adulation with and from the other passengers makes it a lifetime experience.
