From the Where2sing.com forum:

Geez guys see how easy it is to get a response outta Baz @ Capital, on the alert as always, forever vigilant and all knowing, he can smell a deal all the way from Maroochydore, sorry Baz ,only just read your response so missed you on Saturday, hope you didn't do any overtime waiting for me? lol :)

Anyway I think you owe me a few freebies after your 'pickled pom' remark a few posts down, we Geordies leave those 'egg concoctions' to you 'southerners' give me the 'pease pudding & pickled onions' anytime!

But then again on reflection to my past drinking history I think I would've eaten anything after a good beltin' of the 'Broon Ale' lmao

Lamb chops & lambsy, I can sympathise with your discomfort with the smoke issue, unfortunately some venues have a need to service alfresco style entertainment due to the 'smoking law' and at this time of the year patrons do enjoy the balmy beer garden evenings however you are spot on with the recklessness & selfishness of some smokers that infiltrate restricted areas.

I do find sound quality or adjustment of sound is vital & can be difficult when outdoors & the use of an effective foldback a must for the discerning singer as it would be for any live pro vocalist performing at any o/d venue, again that depends on the venues clientelle base, if it is more towards the 'family or anyone can have a go' concept then 'what the heck ' a foldback in this instance would possibly only add to a 'feedback' issue. Outdoor performances are a challenge for all singers accoustically so I would suggest you do keep at it but maybe in a more 'non smoker' friendly environment! (Sorry lc & lambsy & other readers, I did read lambsy comments in the gig listing about foldback so assumed you were both together @ Burrendah and have now realised my gabble could come over a bit confusing here as there is no forum comment re this point) Must be an age thing???
