| From the Where2sing.com forum: How has everyone else’s Karaoke Shows (NSW and soon to hit other States) been this week in regards to crowd numbers?
The reason I ask is that tonight was our lowest ever for nearly 2 to 3 years.
On the weekend you had Soundwave, from there a lot of the bands held concerts while they were in Sydney.
To name a few Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Alice in Chains which were both on tonight
This had a direct result in number of people attending our Karaoke Show.
We struggled earlier in the night with about 9 singers but at the end of the night we ended up with 24 singers in total.
This was well down on nearly every night this year with 40 last week and 30 something every other week.
I suppose some venues that have older crowds would not have noticed the decline in numbers.
Melbourne, South Australia and WA Soundwave is heading your way so if you have a predominately younger crowd be warned.
I suppose the only good thing to come out of numbers being down is what one singer said “it was great getting more than the normal 2/3 songs in”.
